To show my appreciation for your steadfast understanding, patience and support as my inflamed and spastic back muscles heal, I am offering 60% off forever on new paid subscriptions and upgrades until May 31.
I want to celebrate Harvard University for not bending its knee to the Mump-Nazi Reich. Until May 31, I am offering faculty, staff and students with an .edu e-mail 50% off forever.
I hope more educational institutions, especially those in higher education, learn from Harvard’s and history’s example of colleges and universities remaining bold against tyranny and autocracy.
I refuse to put money in Jake Tapper's pocket or eyes on his prose. I won’t even provide the title of his book that has become an online best seller. Even before I learned about former President Joe Biden's aggressive prostate cancer that has metastasized to his bones, I made my choice to steer clear of Tapper’s latest work.
Like a shark, Tapper smells blood in the water. He then strikes to satiate his craven hollowness and cynically benefit himself.
Almost 30 years ago in the alternative weekly newspaper Washington City Paper, Tapper admitted in his “gross” essay about his one date with Monica Lewinsky, whom he described as “zaftig,” a “girl,” a “chick,” and “a little chubby,” that he's a whore:
I hesitate here, because I have no desire to appear on Hard Copy or banter with MSNBCeebees, and, essentially, I feel bad for poor Monica and feel unclean adding my feeble barnacle to her ship of fame. Although I will admit to an odd weave of loathing and envy when I watch the blabbocracy breathlessly weighing in—Hey, I think, they don’t even know this chick. But I am not jumping in because one dinner with Monica enabled me to read her mind as she sits with friends and family at the Watergate, pondering her fate.
I write, clearly, because I want a piece of this story just like everybody else. That imperative distinguishes me not at all from every other journalist in Washington.
That said, let the whoring begin.
PJ Grisar in his 2021 article for The Forward concurs that “Tapper’s piece sure seems like a ploy for attention at someone else’s expense.”
Tapper’s current book that he and his fellow hack yellow journalists have been promoting like salespeople just existing on commission elevate Ron Burgundy and the Channel 4 News Team to the fourth-estate level of Walter Cronkite and the golden years of 60 Minutes.
Tapper and his co-author claim Biden's staff covered up his alleged cognitive and mental decline. Jon Stewart and other pundits have criticized Tapper and CNN for sitting on this supposed “news” and focusing on Biden instead of the viscious Useful Idiot Krasnov who is clearly in cognitive decline and a calamitous malignant narcissist.
Tapper would rather focus on Biden because in addition to not having the skills to investigate and interview Useful Idiot Krasnov, he's terrified of him and his hivemind toadies. Dragging Biden during his state of extreme vulnerability is easier and more lucrative.
Tapper will never confront his interview subjects or be a tough journalist like the late Oriana Fallaci. The daughter of an Italian fascist resistance activist, Fallaci also resisted the Nazis’ occupation of Italy when she was a teenager.
The Italian journalist knew how to interview and unsettle strongmen and war criminals. Along with recognizing vital news, Fallaci understood strongmen were risible cretins who should not be feared.
As a writer, artist and educator, I would never prevent any work from being available to read or seen. We all have the freedom to check out or not check out any creation. But I also have the freedom to criticize an author whose journalistic mission seems more driven on attracting attention than challenging those who hold and misuse power.
He is not a journalist. He is himself a whore.
