The Yellow Bellies and the Tiger
Hack Journalists Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski Obey in Advance to Save Their Access, Their Pocketbooks and Themselves instead of the United States' Constitutional Democratic Republic
I’d like to thank my newest paid supporter Michael Collins. Michael is not only a friend of mine, but he was also my fiction-writing professor at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Michael, your support not only emotionally keeps me going, but your financial support will help my daughter with her post-high school education.
Yesterday morning I woke to news that MSNBC's Bizarro Ernest Hemingway and Martha Gellhorn Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski met with convicted felon and adjudicated rapist Inmate Number P01135809 at his health-code violating Mar a Lago this past weekend. If anyone still needs another reason to disengage from corporate media and journalism, here is a new one to place in your basket. On Bluesky, American satirist Andy Borowitz who writes The Borowitz Report on Substack posted this.
Like the spineless Ted Cruz who ended up hiding in a supply closet during the January 6 Insurrection, Brzeziniski, daughter of the late Zbigniew Brzeziniski who served as the National Security Advisor under President Jimmy Carter, and Scarborough, a former U.S. Congressman from Florida, debased themselves when they groveled at the feet of a stinky and insecure crook who insulted them years ago. The swindler went as far to accuse Scarborough of murder.
Bad enough these feckless talking heads normalized Inmate Number P01135809 after he announced his Presidential run in 2015 by having him on their show over and over. Bad enough they did this after Scarborough dropped the f-bomb live on air after the January 6, 2020 Insurrection that Inmate Number P01135809 incited. Bad enough they did this after Brzezinski wrote a book and started a women’s community ironically titled Know Your Value. They worst about them is that they dismissed the first lesson from Timothy Snyder’s On Tyranny: “Do not obey in advance.”
The Corporatized Fourth Estate continues to fail as journalists and ignore history. The know better to not applying the lessons from the historians like Snyder and Ruth Ben-Ghiat but they do because they are more interested in access and money.
To make "journalists” like Brzezinski and Scarborough feel pain, there must be a boycott of all corporate media. Going foreword we need to financially support and use independently funded news sources, such as ProPublica, TruthOut, Democracy Now, Free Speech TV, Medias Touch Network on YouTube and here on Substack, Indigenous Environmental Network, In These Times, Mother Jones, The Nation, The New Republic, Reveal, and Talking Point Memo.
Before the U.S. entered World War II, Franklin Delano Roosevelt told Americans who cozied up to and appeased fascism and Nazism, “No man can tame a tiger into a kitten by stroking it.”
Though it’s debated if Winston Churchill actually said the following line depicted in the film Darkest Hour, I am still sharing it. All of us must remember this along with Snyder’s lesson of not obeying in advance. Indivisible says our democracy is not over — yet.. We all have to do our part though because the corporate media is not.
I've never watched them, but nothing corporate media does surprises me anymore.
